FC: Spade the Echidna

Ok, some news: I have started to work on a fanfic about Blaze the Cat and her past (especially how she met Silver and their friendship). I chose to write about the '06 incarnation of Blaze because it would be REALLY confusing to try and incorporate her Rush counterpart into the story too (especially considering that in Rush, she's from the Sol dimension, but in Sonic '06, she's from the future). It takes place in and around Soleanna about 5 years before the events of Sonic '06 (Silver and Blaze would both be 9 years old). I'm in the process of making characters for the story, and Spade the Echidna is one of them. Here is her bio (I tried my best to incorporate the story of Sonic '06 into her past):

Powers and Abilities...

Abilities: - Aquakinesis -- she can manipulate water in any way she needs to. She usually does the following:

                 - turn water into solid ice (she uses this ability a lot in fights, melding the ice into spear-like shapes, throwing it at 
                   enemies)
              - Light Manipulation -- she is given this ability from an extremely rare type of silver used in her boots. This ability makes her
                                                 able to control the energy of the Chaos Emeralds (but only the light energy; not the dark)
              - Flight (through "gliding" as Knuckles does)

Backstory...

Spade is essentially a Soleanna counterpart to Knuckles. But rather than having an energy source to protect, she was the guardian of the royal family. She felt particularly close to the Duchess Alona, who was Elise's mother (I made up the name since she is never mentioned anywhere other than in one cutscene with a young Elise and her father). The Duchess was very kind-hearted and even though it was Spade's job to be her guardian, she treated her more like a best friend, and even a daughter at times. Spade grew up without a family, so Alona was very much a motherly figure for her. One night, when Elise was 3 years old, the Duchess and Duke hosted a huge party. Spade was really stressed out over the event, and the Duchess worried that it would be too much for her, so she told her to take the night off to relax. Reluctantly, Spade did as told. However, later that night, the Duchess disappeared and was found murdered the next morning. Spade was deeply affected by this and blamed herself for the Duchess' death. Ashamed to show her face to the royal family, she fled as soon as she could and spent the next four years living on the streets of Soleanna. She showed up to royal events in disguise, so that the family can't recognize her, but at the same time, she could guard them and make sure they don't suffer the same fate as Alona, even though she was no longer the official guardian. During this time, she observed that the Duke began acting very strange, and one night gathered up the courage to approach the 7 year old Elise, expecting to be yelled at (at best). To Spade's surprise, Elise was relieved to see her once again, and actually began to cry on her shoulder for what felt like hours. Eventually, Spade managed to ask Elise what was going on with her father, and Elise told her about the Duke's plan to awaken the sun god, Solaris. She then began to boast about how thanks to Solaris, she would have the chance to travel through time and see her mother again. Spade immediately knew this wouldn't work out. She told Elise that she recalled Alona once warning her that "The Flame of Hope" is not the miracle that people hope for, and after some explaining, Elise understood. She helped Spade get into the castle and confront the Duke. Spade attempted to change his mind about the project. Unfortunately, he was so fixated on the idea that he could get a chance to see his wife again that he ignored Spade's warning. To her surprise, he summoned the guards and she was thrown into prison. Spade felt betrayed and extremely confused. She had completely lost her trust in the Duke by this point and while in prison, she thought and thought of a plan to stop Project Solaris, knowing the Duchess never would have wanted this to happen. Later that same night, Solaris was released and refused to listen to the Duke's pleas, instead killing him. During that cutscene in Sonic '06 when Elise came in, saying "Father!", she was initially hoping to convince him to stop the project.
